Inhabit 2017

Derrick Braziel

Derrick Braziel is a young, creative entrepreneur who is committed to the idea that all it takes to change the world is, “a dollar and a dream.” He supports MORTAR by identifying, initiating, and deepening relationships with various community stakeholders; providing opportunities for external partners to support local entrepreneurs and their ideas. His work was recently recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of their 30 under 30 leaders under Social Entrepreneurship.

Prior to this, he (with the help of many!) decided to found an Indianapolis non-profit named Dreamapolis. As a result of his leadership, Dreamapolis raised thousands of dollars to support launching urban businesses; organized 16 workshops attended by 237 urban entrepreneurs; and two financial literacy summer camps for Indianapolis youth. He is the proud of son of two first generation college graduates and he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Wittenberg University.
